The Kia pro_cee'd GT and cee'd GT are the most performance focused production models from Kia to date. Both models will be revealed at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show on March 5, 2013.

Both cars are designed in Europe under the direction of President and Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer. Peter Schreyer was the man that was responsible for the designs of Audi's most attractive models before he moved to Kia.

True to his style, both models features bold athletic styling, LED daytime running lights, dual exhaust pipes, 18' alloy wheels and red brake calipers. These units will be fitted with the new 1.6L GDI petrol engine that produces 204 hp and 265 Nm of torque. Using a 6-speed manual transmission, the front wheel drive models accelerate from 0-100 in 7.9 seconds.

The cars will be competing with the biggest names in performance hot hatches with the likes of the Golf GTI, Renault Megane, Seat Ibiza Cupra, Vauxhall Astra VXR, Audi A3 and BMW 1-series. The pro_cee'd GT and cee'd GT will depend heavily on having more features standard or available at comparably low prices to have any success as they are not the fastest nor the most fun to drive in the segment.

However with the surge of success that Kia and Hyundai are now experiencing will result in more of their clientele looking for performance and styling and getting with these two models.

Autoinfoja will have an update from the Geneva Motor Show.
